Hi !Hubzilla Support Forum
My hub is running with #invitation
mode on (as instructed in the admin panel, allow registrations and then flip the invitation switch to on), and I tried using that for the first time today.
The invitation was sent out to a gmail address, and it never arrived. My hub uses the rootfs.eu domain, and the sender address for system generated email is configured to be this. However, upon closer inspection it turned out that the generated invitation email was sent out from the address under which my account is registered. This is an address under a punycode(unicode) domain and Google simply drops emails from domains containing punycode (thanks Google, you could've at least
just forwarded such mail to the Spam box, but nooo go ahead and abuse your position of power)*.
That's not the question I want to ask however. I'm simply wondering why my personal email address is used as a sender address, considering the mail server DNS records are not set up for this server at all, and the sender address should actually end in rootfs.eu like stated in the administrator panel. Is this intended or a bug?
* I've complained so many times to them about this but never even received a response. Ugh.
