Hey, it's been some time since I started using Hubzilla, and for the most part it works fine for me (great stuff!)
However, there's two things that have been nagging at me, and even though I play around with them every now and then I haven't been able to fix them, and as much as I'd like to tell my friends and loved ones to join me on my hub, it's not going to work like this...Hubzilla complains about bad SSL configuration
The first issue is that I (hub admin) keep getting emails from my hub every so often stating that the SSL configuration is bad and I should take a look at it. There's a bit of backstory that's relevant:
My Hub is configured behind a reverse proxy, where the proxy manages the SSL session with whomever connects to the server. This used to work fine, but in my quest for solving the second issue (below) I noticed that the webfinger service on my Hub wasn't working as it should, because Hubzilla was of a mind that I did not have SSL configured.
So, I thought I was being clever and configured a SSL connection with some self-signed certs between my reverse proxy and the Hubzilla web server. Now, webfinger works, but this is when Hubzilla started complaining about a bad SSL configuraton.
I know there are other people here that have Hubzilla running behind a reverse proxy, have you run into this?
Now, for the second issue:I can't connect with people on my own hub
I filed a bug report about something I thought was related to this some time ago, but that got fixed (and very fast even!), and my problem wasn't solved. I currently have one friend on my hub, in order to test connecting with him and exchanging messages and so on, but we never receive each other's connection requests!
After digging a bit deeper into this sometime later, I thought the webfinger thing (above) might be the issue. Unfortunately, now that webfinger is working, connecting still doesn't work...
Ironically enough, when I search for the channel through the "find channels" local directory, I do find it.
When I then press "connect" I receive the message "Channel discovery failed".
Something tells me that these issues are related somehow.. In any case, I have not been successful thus far in solving them, and I hope someone in the community here might be able to offer some insight.
